Groom’s Cake

The groom’s cake is a chance for the groom to express himself at his wedding. Generally the groom allows the bride to chose everything from colors to location and even the clothes he will wear. Allowing him this small input will showcase the groom and make him more of a part of the wedding.
The groom’s cake is not normally served next to the brides cake as it usually has darker colors or is shaped to show off the groom’s hobbies or talents. Because of this there have been quite a variety of designs. They vary in form, like resembling golf courses, and ball fields to a soda can or television. There really is no design limits as long as it reflects the groom (and the bride allows it).
It is tradition that the brides maids will take home a piece of the groom’s cake and sleep with it under her pillow. It is said that by doing this she will be able to dream of her future groom.
Although it is an old southern tradition it is making a comeback to cities all over the US.
Couture Specialty Cakes creates groom’s cakes that truly express the groom.
